New dating of the rock paintings of the Lubang Jeriji Saleh cave, on the island of Borneo in Indonesia, reveals that they are the oldest figurative representations known to date, created 40,000 years ago.
These analyzes once again call into question the traditional Eurocentric vision of the birth of art.
