A typical chicken dish from Madagascar: Akoho Sy Voanio

A traditional Malagasy dish called “akoho sy voanio” is a chicken dish cooked in a spicy coconut sauce. It is made with chicken, sautéed tomatoes, onions, garlic and ginger, then gently simmered in coconut milk, with saffron, salt and pepper. Although this dish is a traditional Christmas meal in Madagascar, it is very easy to prepare throughout the year. This recipe, made with pantry ingredients, is perfect for leftovers or for preparing meals. It can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days or frozen for 3 months. It should be accompanied by rice.
