Djibouti : Rhythmic dances important moments of life
In Djiboutian culture, dance, like song, holds a great place and accompanies important moments in life. In Afar culture, the Laale dance, performed exclusively by men, or the Malabo dance, performed exclusively by women, accompany wedding ceremonies, for example. Somali dance is represented by warriors: surrounded, two or four dancers follow each other, whirling in harmony, while brandishing their weapons with sudden movements reminiscent of a duel.
