Indonesia : Stop to invasive fish !

Thanks to its high biodiversity, Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest and most diverse aquatic ecosystems in the world. Unfortunately, this biodiversity is threatened not only by pollution and climate change, but also by invasive species, especially “invasive fish”. Invasive fish are fish species from outside an ecosystem that are able to reproduce rapidly, often without natural predators.

Their presence can disrupt the ecosystem by destroying native species, damaging the natural habitat, or spreading diseases that are dangerous to local fish. To protect Indonesia’s natural ecosystem, the government has imposed strict regulations that prohibit the maintenance, distribution, and release of invasive fish into the country’s waters.
