Sri Lanka: The 12th edition of Galle Literary Festival is scheduled for 6-9 February 2025, celebrating literature, art, and culture
Since its inception in 2007, the Galle Literary Festival has grown into one of South Asia’s most anticipated literary gatherings. Showcasing a wide range of creative disciplines, the festival not only highlights the works of writers and poets but also provides a platform for painters, dancers, chefs, architects, photographers, and filmmakers.
Together with Gourmet Galle and the Art Trail, the festival serves as a dynamic celebration of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, playing a vital role in strengthening the country’s tourism industry and economic prospects. These events not only pay tribute to Sri Lanka’s rich artistic and literary traditions but also position the country as a premier destination for cultural tourism on a global scale.
Each year, the Galle Literary Festival offers an immersive experience for visitors, bringing together acclaimed authors, artists, and culinary experts. Hosted as a not-for-profit initiative, the festival unfolds over four lively days in the heart of Galle, providing a vibrant platform to celebrate literature, art, and culture.
