The 2026 Camel Beauty Show Festival has officially begun in the Wilayat of Al-Musannah, in the South Al Batinah Governorate of Oman, bringing five days of vibrant cultural celebration to one of the Sultanate’s most cherished traditional events.
Organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation, this annual festival brings together camel owners and breeders from across the country. At the heart of the event is the Muzayina, a camel beauty show held across different age categories, where the finest purebred Omani camels compete for prestige and recognition.
The Muzayina focuses on the aesthetic qualities and heritage value of camels. Animals are evaluated on natural beauty, physical harmony, posture and lineage, reflecting long-standing traditions deeply rooted in Bedouin and Arabian culture. Owners prepare their camels with great care, paying close attention to health, grooming and nutrition.
The festival showcases the elegance of Oman’s camels while highlighting their cultural importance across the Gulf region. Such events echo centuries-old practices where camel beauty and quality symbolised pride, identity and social bonds within communities.
