Launch of the Indian Ocean Marine Life Foundation
“Our oceans are essential to attracting more and more tourists to the country. (…) It is a fact, the sea is a source of wealth and the showcase of our local tourism, it is nourishing and it will be called upon to welcome other emerging pillars in the future,” assured Kobita Jugnauth, wife of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, by launching the Indian Ocean Marine Life Foundation. This organization, of which she is the godmother, is dedicated to the protection and preservation of marine biodiversity. This launch took place in the presence of the President of the Foundation, René Heuzey; its honorary president, the oceanographer François Sarano as well as other personalities. It also included the screening of the documentary film Cachalots, a family story, directed by Guillaume Vincent, François Sarano and René Heuzey.
