Jetstar Asia Launches Direct Flights from Singapore to Komodo’s Gateway, Labuan Bajo

Jetstar Asia is set to launch direct flights from Singapore to Labuan Bajo starting March 20, marking a major milestone for tourism in the region. Labuan Bajo, known as the gateway to Komodo National Park, is home to the world’s largest lizard species, the Komodo dragon, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.

Previously difficult to access, Labuan Bajo was named one of Indonesia’s “Five New Balis”, a government initiative to promote emerging tourist destinations. With Jetstar Asia now offering twice-weekly flights, the town is expected to attract more international visitors. However, conservationists warn that increasing tourism could threaten Komodo dragons’ natural habitat, prompting officials to consider temporary park closures to preserve its delicate ecosystem.

This new flight route marks Changi Airport’s first direct connection to Labuan Bajo, making it easier than ever for travelers to explore one of Indonesia’s most breathtaking and remote destinations.
