Kenya Named First Beneficiary of Dubai’s Rashid Villages Project
Kenya has been selected as the first country to host the Rashid Villages initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE, on the 10th anniversary of his brother Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed’s death.
The pilot village will be built on 7.2 hectares in Kenya, providing fully furnished homes, a school for 320 pupils, a healthcare centre, a mosque, a multipurpose hall, and sports facilities. Powered by solar energy and supported by endowment-based commercial outlets, the community is expected to benefit about 1,700 people.
The humanitarian project, which combines housing, education, healthcare, and sustainable economic activity, will expand annually to other countries, furthering Sheikh Rashid’s legacy of compassion and global outreach.
