Madagascar exhibition :Roméo Mivekannin ,Correspondances
The H Foundation presents Correspondences, a solo exhibition by Roméo Mivekannin, from October 2, 2025, to March 21, 2026.
The Franco-Beninese artist, invited to create an exhibition in dialogue with Malagasy history, territory, and culture, explores historical narratives, colonial representations, and spiritual transmissions within the local context. This exhibition will occupy the upper exhibition spaces of the H Foundation in Antananarivo, Madagascar, for five months. The title Correspondences serves as a key to understanding Roméo Mivekannin’s solo exhibition at the H Foundation. For this project, the artist focused on colonial postcards, both intimate and ideological, which he reinterprets through textile painting in a process of critical reappropriation.
The term Correspondences also refers to the echoes between temporalities, narratives and gestures of reparation, and extends to geographical circulations between France, Benin and Madagascar – between colonial pasts and contemporary resistances, between erased figures and their reinscription in an active memory.
