Phuket Tops Thailand’s Tourism Boom in 2024
Phuket has emerged as Thailand’s leading tourism revenue generator in 2024, bringing in an impressive 497.5 billion baht, followed by Chonburi and Surat Thani. The success of these destinations highlights Thailand’s strong appeal, from coastal getaways to cultural hotspots like Chiang Mai and Krabi.
To build on this momentum, the government has declared 2025 the “Golden Year of Thai Tourism,” aiming to eliminate the low season and distribute tourism income more evenly across the country. Efforts include enhancing infrastructure, hosting international events, and promoting lesser-known destinations to attract high-value visitors.
Authorities emphasize that Thailand’s tourism sector remains a key economic driver, with future strategies focusing on sustainable growth, quality standards, and positioning the country as a top global destination.
