Seychelles celebrates first International Day for the Abolition of Slavery in Venn’s Town
On Monday, Seychelles commemorated the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery for the first time with an exhibition held at the Venn’s Town Cultural Landscape, located in Sans Soucis on the main island of Mahé. The event, organised by the Seychelles National Heritage Resources Council (SNHRC) in collaboration with the National Archives, offered an immersive look at the history of the archipelago during the period of slavery and after its abolition.
