Sharjah International Travel & Tourism Forum Concludes with a Strong Call for Responsible, Tech-Driven Tourism

The Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum (SITTF), held on 19 November in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, has just concluded after a full day of discussions dedicated to the future of sustainable and responsible tourism. This year’s edition, themed “New Waves of Tourism Spectrum,” brought together global experts, policymakers, and industry innovators to examine how emerging digital tools can support greener, more resilient travel models.

Throughout the forum, speakers emphasized how technologies such as AI, data intelligence, and digital platforms can help destinations reduce their environmental footprint while improving visitor management and long-term planning. Sessions also explored the importance of transparency in sustainability efforts, addressing concerns around greenwashing and highlighting concrete examples of ecological stewardship.

Participants agreed on one key point: digital transformation must go hand in hand with authenticity, cultural preservation, and community engagement. Several case studies showed how technology can enhance responsible travel by protecting fragile environments, empowering local communities, and supporting more equitable tourism ecosystems.

As SITTF 2025 comes to a close, Sharjah reaffirms its commitment to making sustainability the cornerstone of its tourism vision, demonstrating how innovation can guide the global industry toward a more conscious and future-ready model of travel.
