Tanzania Leverages AFCON 2027 to Boost its Sports Tourism
Tanzania is prepared to profit from the growing sports tourism sector as it prepares to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Kenya and Uganda. A strategic initiative to use the AFCON 2027 event as a means of boosting both football and cultural tourism has been launched by Tanzania Tourism Sector Safety and Protection (TTSSP). From heritage tours to athletic events, the goal is to attract foreign tourists and highlight Tanzania’s cultural richness. The 2027 competition, which will take place from June 19 to July 18, will serve as a powerful platform for Tanzania to advertise both its established cultural attractions and football infrastructure.
