Tanzania to Host the 2nd UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism in Africa
From April 23-25, 2025, Arusha, Tanzania, will become the heart of African gastronomy tourism as it hosts the 2nd UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Africa.
Organized by UN Tourism, the Basque Culinary Center, and the Government of Tanzania, this major event will bring together global experts, tourism leaders, and local stakeholders to explore the power of gastronomy tourism in driving economic growth, cultural preservation, and sustainability.
With Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) as the main entry point, attendees are encouraged to book accommodations early due to limited availability.
This forum will highlight Tanzania’s rich culinary heritage while promoting strategies to enhance food tourism across Africa, benefiting local communities and the environment. By fostering collaboration and sharing best practices, the event aims to strengthen regional resilience and economic opportunities through the unique flavors and traditions of African cuisine.
