Thailand’s Most Magical Season of Lights, Heritage, and Celebration
As 2025 unfolds, Thailand invites the world to experience an extraordinary season where tradition meets innovation, through two cultural highlights: the Maha Loi Krathong World Event and Vijit Chao Phraya 2025.
The Maha Loi Krathong World Event will take place in the historic cities of Sukhothai (27 Oct – 5 Nov) and Ayutthaya (2–6 Nov). These events bring to life the elegance of one of Thailand’s most beloved festivals through light and sound shows, traditional performances, and cultural storytelling set against UNESCO-listed heritage sites.
Then, from 1 November to 15 December, Vijit Chao Phraya 2025 will transform Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River into a 45-night celebration of lights, music, and creativity. Highlights include drone shows every Friday at Rama VIII Bridge, and fireworks with immersive multimedia displays every weekend at key riverfront locations — all showcasing Thailand’s dynamic fusion of art, technology, and cultural pride.
As part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year, these events embody the country’s commitment to cultural preservation, sustainable tourism, and memorable visitor experiences.
