Third Edition of the Maa Cultural Festival to Celebrate Kenya’s Heritage and Harmony in Amboseli

The third edition of the Maa Cultural Festival will be held from November 4th to 9th, 2025, at Amboseli National Park, Kimana Gate, in Kajiado County, Kenya.

This much-anticipated cultural gathering celebrates the living traditions and shared heritage of the Maa-speaking communities of Kenya and northern Tanzania.

Bringing together the Maasai, Samburu, Ilchamus, and Laikipia peoples, the festival serves as a platform for unity, pride, and intercommunity exchange. Held under the theme “Promoting Maa Cultural Expressions for Socio-Economic Development,” it highlights the role of culture as a driving force for social cohesion, sustainable tourism, and economic empowerment within Kenya and the wider East African region.

Ahead of the main event, the Maa Cultural Festival Roadshow began in Kajiado South, Kenya, featuring local artists Everlyn Moipai and Lakili. Their performances have energized communities and built anticipation for the festival’s main celebration in Amboseli.

During the week-long event, visitors will experience the rhythms, colors, and traditions of Maa culture through music, dance, storytelling, cuisine, and art exhibitions. Cultural forums and workshops will also address key topics such as heritage preservation, youth engagement, and the role of culture in national development.

With the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, the Maa Cultural Festival stands as a testament to Kenya’s cultural diversity and resilience. It continues to strengthen the bonds among Maa-speaking communities while promoting a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s rich cultural landscape.
