India To Launch First Human Underwater Submersible As Part Of Deep Ocean Mission

India is set to operate its first human-powered underwater submersible at a depth of 500 metres as part of the ambitious Deep Ocean Mission, Earth Sciences Minister Jitendra Singh announced on Thursday. The announcement was made during a Mission Steering Committee meeting, which included several key officials such as Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery.
