Indian Ocean : test national plans to combat marine pollution.

 

400 agents from 11 countries were mobilized for four days last week, as part of the exercise to combat marine pollution, MASEPOLREX23 which took place in Mauritius. MASE programs, funded by the European Union, make it possible to test national plans to combat marine pollution. Indian ocean combat pollution:The scenarios help to test responsiveness, but also coordination, between different countries. The regional operational coordination centers (Editor’s note: CRCO based in Seychelles) and maritime information fusion centers (Editor’s note: CRFIM based in Madagascar) are in charge of distributing resources. Eleven countries participated in the 2023 exercise: South Africa, Comoros, Djibouti, France, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and Yemen.
