Madagascar: Ivohiboro, the forgotten forest
In the southern region of Madagascar, within the Ivohibe Mountains, one of the most remote and hostile areas of the island, American primatologist Patricia Wright discovered a 14-kilometer-square tropical humid forest in 2019. A slice of fresh greenery in a mineral-rich burning ocean. A sanctuary surrounded by an eternal flame since it is 1,500 meters above sea level.
This forest known as Ivohiboro is almost unique. Un miraculous. A place outside of time that has maintained its original condition and is home to an incredible variety of insects, reptiles, mammals, and birds with unusual shapes and vibrant colors. There would even be catta lémurs, which typically inhabit dry forests.
