Nowruz a message of peace for nations

“Nowruz is a civilizational bridge that connects the hearts of the peoples of Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and other countries in the Nowruz region, and has become a messenger of peace and solidarity among nations around the world.”

Nowruz has been celebrated for at least 3,000 years and is deeply rooted in the rituals and traditions of Zoroastrianism. Today, Nowruz is celebrated in many countries that were territories or influenced by the Persian Empire: apart from Iran, these include Kurdistan, Afghanistan, parts of the Middle East as well as the former Soviet republics of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, where the holiday is called Navruz. The holiday is also celebrated by the Zoroastrian Parsis and Hindus of the Kashmir Valley, who call the holiday Navreh in India, or Salars in Qinghai Province, China.

The holiday is celebrated by some communities on March 21, and by others on the vernal equinox, which varies between March 20 and 22.
