#SustainableTourism #IndianOcean #Southafrica #Gastronomy
Bobotie is a South African dish made with minced meat, tomato sauce, chutney, raisins, spices, and a filling of egg and bread soaked in milk. It is gratinated in the oven, and served with rice, decorated with vegetables, fruits, or nuts.
The recipe probably comes from the Dutch colonies of Batavia. The name is derived from the Indonesian Bobotok. The recipe was imported to South Africa from the 17th century and was adopted by the Cape Malay community
