South Africa : 23 to 31 March 2024, Klein Karoo National Arts Festival
Hundreds of artists present drama, dance, music, and visual arts at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, a weeklong event in South Africa. The festival is commonly known by the initials of its name in the Afrikaans language: KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees).
The KKNK takes place every year in Oudtshoorn, the principal town in the Little Karoo (Klein Karoo) region of the Western Cape province.
Every year the KKNK has an appointed festival artist. The festival artist is a well-known painter, sculptor, or photographer who creates artwork for the festival. Jan Vermeiren, Erik Laubscher, Wendy Malan, Piet Grobler, and Lien Botha have all been festival artists.
