The Indian Ocean is a contradiction: there are superb environments, treasures of biodiversity still preserved, resources and mineral wealth, an extraordinary youth dynamic which opposes a still very present poverty, unbearable inequalities.
The observation is severe, but if we want to look beyond, we find remarkable initiatives in all sectors: health, education, food, research, innovations and responsible tourism.
